Osprey on nest edge

Oil painting on canvas

By

Duncan M. Watt

Painting of osprey on very dege of nest.

My first public talk was at my local North Ayrshire RSPB Members' Group in September 1989.
My subject: the Loch Garten Osprey.
At that time, I edited out the elements of artificial nest supports in my painting (left). Then I saw some of Bob Bateman's paintings . . . he showed the damaging effects of human pollution, like garbage tangled around Gulls' legs. I resolved to show the repaired nest tree at Loch Garten, which had been cut down by vandals.
