This monumental piece would charm the mind of C. R. McIntosh and Margaret MacDonald, as it is L'Art Nouveau as they saw it! While the whole work is focussed on one tree, the spectator, while looking around, cannot avoid suddenly perceiving the detail of contours, are echoed in every tree in the beechwood grove.
I teach that the job of the artist is to point and say: ‘Look at that - see what I see!’
