Time passes

This year's pair chose a quite different location from last year's birds.
Being on damper ground, reeds start to regrow around the site.
When the camera was installed, the reeds which had been growing got flattened by the nesting process, but by this date (21st June) they are pushing their way through again.

The lower part of the sketchbook page shows a portrait of the male Hen Harrier who visited the nest briefly.
The male very seldom comes to the nest, as he brings food and calls the female off the nest to pass a food item to her.
