Blue Hawk |

Most recent of the Hen Harrier series, this portrait of the male or Blue Hawk, appearing briefly at the nest contains all the elements of the previous 'By nature, Celtic' series. The iridescent golden ribbons derived from ancient Celtic knotwork are delving into the third dimension. We still have a runic message, a cast of runes is still recorded; but now, in homage to the print makers of Japan, the runes are found on pink-painted 'tablets' in the foreground. At first, they catch the eye, but like a fanfare, they fade as your eye is drawn inwards to the drama. |
