Lionesses

Panthera leo      Simba

It's interesting how intimidating the lioness can be, simply by dropping her jaw. We are only seeing relatively small teeth here, yet we, perhaps instinctively, know that box-like muzzle is covering the enormous upper canines.

Part of the Pride of lions is the quality of the females' gossip, probably about the male or males. Forgive the anthropomorphism, but some communication is passing between these sisters.

Memories of the sphinx at Giza may be stimulated by the line and shading technique which has a stone-chiselled appearance.
