Little and White-fronted Bee-eaters

Little Bee-eaters Merops pusillus cyanosticus are common and widespread throughout most of Kenya. White-fronted Bee-eaters Merops b. bullockoides are locally common, for example in the Kenyan Rift Valley. I drew them in the field with Aquarelle pencils. I chose the Little Bee-eater for an illustration for a newspaper article advertising a talk on Kenyan wildlife, using the computer to develop in the stages shown.
